The method of pouring molten metal into the cavity of a mold using gravity (atmospheric pressure) to create castings is called "gravity casting." Since the molten metal flows smoothly into the mold, there is less air entrapment, allowing for heat treatment and welding. The pressure acting on the molten metal during casting is approximately atmospheric pressure, so molds made of sand, known as cores, can be used, enabling the casting of complex shapes with hollow sections. 【Advantages】 ■ Molds can be reused multiple times - In sand casting, which also utilizes gravity, one mold is required per product. ■ High airtight aluminum castings can be produced - Molten aluminum can be poured quietly into the mold, resulting in less air entrapment. ■ Complex products can be created - The low pressure during casting allows for the use of sand cores, making it possible to cast hollow sections and complex castings. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
